Financial distress is the number one reason students leave college. While they have completed the hardest part–years of classes, late nights, and sacrifices–a surprising number are stopped right at the finish line. The debt that stops a student from registering for their final semester is often less than $2,500. We are raising funds to deliver targeted aid to assist students with outstanding balances.
We are specifically seeking to help our junior and senior students who are poised to graduate but are trapped by an institutional debt. This “stranded debt” prevents them from registering for their classes or accessing their degree. Without emergency help, years of hard work are lost, and they are left with debt but no diploma.
